The secret to its lightness lies in the ultra-lightweight aluminum (7075) used for the shaft material. Also known as super duralumin, it is a material with top-class strength among lightweight aluminum alloys. It is also used in the exterior of aircraft where lightness and strength are required.
Not only are they lightweight and easy to handle, but aluminum is also great because even when subjected to loads far exceeding the design specifications, such as when caught between rocks during climbing or during a fall, they only bend rather than break.
In some cases, even a slight bend can allow you to continue using them until you descend the mountain. Another advantage of telescopic trekking poles is that you can repair them by replacing only the bent section.
The lock uses a lever system. The lever allows for easy size adjustment even while wearing gloves, providing flexibility to suit different situations.
